Perth plane crash: Two taken to Royal Perth Hospital after plane crashes at Serpentine Airfield

Two people have been rushed to hospital in Perth after the light plane they were flying in crashed south of Perth.

Emergency services were called to the crash site at Yangedi Road, Hopeland, near the Serpentine Airfield, on Sunday morning.

A man in his 70s and a woman in her 60s were on board the aircraft when it went down.

The pair were transported to Royal Perth Hospital in a stable condition.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services said an RAC Rescue helicopter had been sent to the scene.

Career ad volunteer firefighters are at the scene, DFES added.
