A truck has crashed into a rail bridge and flipped onto its side, blocking traffic at a major Melbourne CBD intersection.
The collision happened during the morning peak on Thursday at the intersection of Spencer and Flinders Street.
The truck rolled over and emergency services were working to right it.
All west-bound lanes of Flinders Street were closed at Spencer Street, with traffic being diverted.
The south-bound lanes on Spencer Street were also being diverted.
Motorists have been urged to avoid the area.
Trains have also been affected and those that run through Clifton Hill Station are travelling direct to Flinders Street.
Engineers are inspecting the rail bridge through the City Loop.
Trams on routes 70 and 75 have also been disrupted.
Victoria Police are on the scene and are directing traffic.
The intersection will reopen and trains will resume when it is safe to do so.
