Man’s body found in Queensland floodwaters

A man has died after his vehicle became submerged in floodwaters in southern Queensland.

Emergency crews received a report that two utility vehicles had been swept into a creek from Kelvinhaugh Yalangur Road at Yalangur, near Toowoomba, just before 8.30am on Wednesday.

The driver and sole occupant of one of the vehicles managed to get themselves out safely.

However, specialist police and emergency crews found the other vehicle with a 73-year-old Roma man deceased inside.

He was the sole occupant.

Investigations are continuing regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
