EU recommends lifting travel restrictions on US and 13 other countries

  • Serbia
  • Singapore
  • South Korea
  • Thailand
  • United States of America
  • China, topic to affirmation of reciprocity

Travel restrictions must also be regularly lifted for the particular administrative areas of China Hong Kong and Macao. The situation of reciprocity for these particular administrative areas has been lifted, it added. 

The resolution was primarily based on standards overlaying the “epidemiological situation and overall response to COVID-19, as well as the reliability of the available information and data sources.” It provides that reciprocity must also be taken under consideration on a case by case foundation.
