Sam Petrevski-Seton is officially an Eagle, West Coast landing the former pick six for selection 52 in next month’s draft.
The selection will also finalise Carlton’s pursuit of Western Bulldog utility Lewis Young, the Blues set to on-trade West Coast’s third round draft pick to the Bulldogs to secure the tall utility.
While Carlton would be disappointed to lose Petrevski-Seton after 94 inconsistent games, the acquisition of Young gives the Blues the key defender depth they require after Caleb Marchbank ruptured his ACL in April.
MORE AFL NEWS:
While if West Coast can unlock the promise Petrevski-Seton showed as a junior, the 23-year-old could shape as one of the bargain buys of the trade period after playing just 11 games this year, struggling with an unfamiliar half-back role.

Senior coach Adam Simpson has already flagged Petrevski-Seton is likely to play as a mid-forward, giving the Eagles more flexibility with their ageing midfield.
AFL great David King said a move home could unlock the best of Petreski-Seton.
“If he‘s happy and playing his best football, he’s an AFL player for mine,” King told Trading Day.
“I‘m not as down on him as others. I don’t think he’s going to come in and be Luke Shuey, but I think he can come in and be a very good half-forward flanker in the competition.
“He‘s done it before, he hasn’t lost his ability. He’s lost confidence and he’s been unhappy as a footballer – and I’ve never seen an unhappy footballer be a star anywhere across a competition.

“So sometimes that refresh at a new club can give them the confidence they need to at least gather what they are, get good at what they have delivered as an underage player.
“I think a reset will be good for him.”
