Ability WA one of WA’s largest disability service providers

Celebrating its 70th year, Ability WA is one of WA’s largest disability service providers.

Ability WA has a long history of developing innovative services for every stage of life to people with cerebral palsy and a range of other disabilities through its experienced multidisciplinary team.

Services are developed with every age group in mind, from infants, primary and high school-aged children, to young and older adults.

Using an evidence-based and outcomes-focused approach, Ability WA helps link people with disabilities, regardless of their funding source, to the services they need, ensuring a quality service by using evidence to inform decision making.

Ability WA has a multi-disciplined team of expert clinicians, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, social workers and dieticians who specialise in providing high-quality intervention to those with complex disabilities.

The Equipment Solutions team is one of the most experienced in WA and use their expertise in technology to work with customers and families to find solutions for sleep and communication difficulties and to prescribe the right mobility device such as wheelchairs.

Home and living support is provided through a dedicated team wherever the customer needs it, including at Ability WA’s Supported Independent Living homes and brand new Specialised Disability Accommodation homes built by some of Perth’s leading property developers.

Ability WA can also facilitate people to find open employment through its Disability Employment Scheme (DES) and supported employment opportunities through linking customers to meaningful work, including its Goodwill Engineering facility and three Containers for Change outlets across the Perth metropolitan region.

All services are delivered through four hubs, conveniently located in Coolbinia, Currambine, Malaga and Canning Vale.

Services can also be provided in the home, school, workplace and community, or in any setting to ensure the best outcome for customers.
